Gothic Meadow Cottage
by Helene Vachet

The house is to emanate peace, tranquility, and beauty and to inspire others in the community.
The look that I had imagined for the house was that of a monastic, Gothic cottage with some castle-like features. It would have Gothic arches to point the way to the deity.
Its walls would be rounded in places, and coated with rough plaster, suggestive of castle walls. Stained glass windows would be designed to impart the energy and beauty of color and be reminiscent of castles and churches. Old imported stones tiles from Italy would be applied to confer instant age and atmosphere to the kitchen and bathrooms.
Also, I wanted the doors to be really unique, to provide a visible passage into other worlds. In other words, I wanted to live in a dedicated place that would bestow a constant reminder of the sacred.
