POP's (Persistent Organic Pollutants) have spread rapidly throughout our entire global environment damaging most of our land, water, and air ecosystems.
In his book, Naturally Clean, Jeffrey Hollender states that, "Interestingly, if you put a chart detailing the rise in cancer incidences from 1940 onward over a chart illustrating our increasing use of chemicals over the same time period, you'd see a startling parallel." I am certain that we would find a similar parallel if we viewed charts detailing the increased incidence of lupus, fibromyalgia, muscular sclerosis, as well as many other degenerative illnesses that are impacting all of the industrialized world today.

Hatha Yoga was developed to support spiritual seekers in their quest for enlightenment. An uncomfortable body distracted them from meditation and reflection; so, Hatha Yoga was carefully created to bring health, flexibility, and relaxation to the physical body. There was (and is) no need for special paraphernalia or fancy clothing.
