The Mess the World is in: And Who Can Fix It

Are you disgusted with the mess the world is in? Do you think about how it got this way? Can it be fixed? From my observation of the condition the world is in, we don't have to look far. As I see it--the problems have been caused by you and me.
It isn't too hard to understand. It amounts to personal responsibility. But let's start with this country. The answer isn't the vote. We have been voting for two hundred years and everything is worse. I want to look elsewhere.
We might be able to understand the problems we face to day by looking backward. Time has a way of supplying us with understanding and clarity. It can also be used for preventing similar problems. The philosopher, George Santayana, said "Those who cannot (do not) remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
We have not used this idea to our advantage.
